| Engineer - Traffic Systems Maintenance Primary Function Carrying out maintenance functions either internally or by the use of contractors (outsourcing) including the management, evaluation of contractors and consultants. Core Competency Level: Employment Standards: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Traffic Engineering required. Knowledge: Good knowledge of modern principles of traffic system applications. Excellent knowledge in Microsoft Office Applications, engineering planning and management. Knowledge of Maintenance Management System & Oracle. Skill/Experience: 2 to 4 years of experience in Traffic System maintenance Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of traffic engineering. Excellent skills in the maintenance of traffic system software and hardware. Good communication skills, report writing and presentation in both English and Arabic. The ability of control & supervise the Traffic system maintenance Contracts. Analytical thinking, problem solving, business innovation, and system troubleshooting. Attitude: Leading group & supervision, adaptability, team work, group effort/focuses on results, quality oriented, and an active listener. Key Performance Areas: Organization Effectiveness: • Actively contribute in the annual budget implementation, evaluate and recommend specific adjustments during the implementation to project needs. • Ensure the timely submission of business measurable objectives to the concern supervisor. • Actively contribute in the orientation program for new employee including the clarification of organization role and job description. Traffic Systems Maintenance: • Maintain roads’ traffic systems with all associated facilities to the highest standards. • Monitor the performance of the contractors and maintain register/records of the results, quality of services, response rate and the compliance with the approved procedures in order to ensure that all technical, contractual, legal, and regulatory requirements are addressed. • Supervising of the in-house team of Traffic Signal Maintenance & Intelligent Transportation System staff. • Receive complaints (RTA Emergency, Public, and Traffic Management Control) of any violation against any Traffic systems assets and assure to rectify the problem. • Ensure the implementation of the preventive and corrective maintenance of Dubai Emirate's traffic systems. • Undertake preparation of tender documents and the technical evaluation of the offers. • Ensure completion of the maintenance projects on time, within the budget and in conformance with specifications. • Supervising of the in-house team of Traffic Signal Maintenance & Intelligent Transportation System staff. • Participate in the review specifications of acquired traffic systems to assure they comply with technical requirements and ensure the maintainability and interact with engineering team to coordinate selection and implementation. • Devise the appropriate corrective action for standard or frequent problems which ensures prompt correction of problem and mitigates the impact of the interruption of traffic regulation systems and maximizes the safety considerations. • Maintain support and maintenance contracts with the original vendors or selected contractors to support the traffic systems and networks. • Conduct scheduled checks to verify operation. • Prepare and present recommendations and reports regarding the performance of the traffic systems. • Conducting a site inspection to insure projects & check the correct implementation of drawings. • Prepare periodic/ monthly reports about the work flow indicating the weak points /obstacles & suggestion to improve and develop the work environment. • Prepare all technical reports for both Traffic Signal as well as Intelligent Transportation System. • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position when appropriate. Communication/Information Management: • Maintain accurate, up-to-date information and trends through the available communication media. • Manage the Information System to enhance and improve the same for efficient use. • Fulfill all reporting requirements, and maintain records concerning traffic system related data. Quality & Excellence Standards: • Ensure efficient, courteous and timely services to all employees’ requests and inquiries. • Ensure achievement of the quality objectives as set forth in the RTA and the department quality plan. • Ensure achievement of targeted results in each key performance areas as outlined in the plan. • Comply with the RTA’s quality standards and requirements. • Comply with the RTA policy in respect to the Shareholders, Customer, Suppliers, Employees, and to carry out your duties and responsibilities as per RTA Code of Conduct. Health, Safety & Environment: • Ensure all the environmental aspects in the area of responsibility are identified and actions are taken to ensure compliance with the HSE standards. • Comply with the RTA applicable HSE rules and procedures. • Promptly report all accidents and/or potential hazards. • Ensure that proper housekeeping is done within the workstation. | |
