Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic This is a position with a physical rating of heavy. Must have a minimum of three (3) years preventative maintenance experience with diesel engines and gasoline and diesel driven construction equipment. Military maintenance/defense maintenance contracting experience preferred but not required. Thorough knowledge of Army technical publications helpful. Civilian candidates with over three (3) years of engineer equipment mechanic experience are encouraged to apply. Related DOT Classification/DOT Codes: Construction Equipment Mechanic 620.261-022 or Diesel Mechanic 625.281-010. Must have a U.S. passport. Must be able to pass a physical exam due to the harsh living and working conditions. Must also pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen. This is a one (1) year assignment. You should expect to work 12 hour days, seven days a week.
