| Windows Application Developer (.NET/SQL Server) The UNRWA e-Health unit is being formed to introduce new software into UNRWA Health Clinics and the Lebanon Field Office Health Department. Working within this unit, the incumbent will report to e-Health Project Manager. DUTIES Designs, develops and documents Windows applications according to user and project requirements. Participates in the system testing of e-Health software. Prepares user training manuals and technical instruction manuals. Participates in the demonstration and user training of e-Health software. Coordinates with other e-Health project team members including developing project schedules, task assignments, regular meetings, reviewing and reporting on work. Assists to establish and adhere to best practices in software development and documentation. SELECTION CRITERIA Academic and professional: A recognized university degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. Experience: At least two years experience and advanced skills in developing sophisticated Windows-based applications using VB.NET and ADO.NET. Language: Very good command of written and spoken English and Arabic. Competencies: Able to work independently, as well as cohesively within a small team; dedicated; client-focused; plan and organize tasks; work well under pressure; shows initiative, enthusiasm and professional integrity; keeps abreast of trends in their field of endeavor; excellent written and spoken communication skills; and respect for diversity. Desirable: A Microsoft Certified Professional or Technology Specialist qualification, e.g. MCAD, MCSE, or MCTS: .NET 2.0 Windows or Distributed Applications, with a focus on developing and implementing windows-based applications with VB.NET & ADO.NET. Experience in distributed application development including creating and accessing Web Services using SOAP and XML. Experience in SQL Server 2000 or higher and SQL scripting. Some web development experience with skills in VB.NET, ADO.NET, ASP, PHP, JavaScript, CSS or HTML. Experience in developing software within an integrated development environment, e.g. Visual Studio.NET. Experience in developing software within a small team including the use of source code version control software. Experience in testing of software applications. Good technical documentation skills. Experience in the full software development life cycle. Experience in developing databases or software applications in the health sector including the HL7 standard. | |
