Managing Director – Automobiles

Managing Director required for my client who is one of West Africa's largest business conglomerates with well consolidated business lines, robust infrastructure and valuable human resources. The company controlling entity of a number of leading businesses in trading, industrial, automotive and services sectors of the regional economy.
The Applicant:
Requirements:

- Manufacturing operations experience in automotive industry is a MUST, with good understanding of automotive industry as well as automotive component market in UAE

- B.S. Degree in engineering with MS/MBA is highly desirable

- Minimum 10 years experience in an operational leadership / management role with out of 3 years as a plant manager and a strong understanding of Finance and cost control

- A sound knowledge of finance, quality and continuous improvement philosophy, quality standards, quality needs and strategic planning, customer satisfaction, project management, statistical method

- With a solid background of 6 Sigma, Lean Manufacturing

- A hands-on manager to effectively lead multiple projects, relationships and leverage diversity in a multicultural environment

- Demonstrated success in building organizational capability and upgrading the leadership talent

- Experience in a JV environment and multi-site previous experience will be an advantage

- Highly motivated and results-oriented working style, persistent, straightforward

- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Responsibilities:

- Establishing and implementing short-term and long-term strategy for new business to grow the business and increase marketing share

- Being responsible for all the three plants’ operation management with annual development plan, budget, forecast, financial analysis; control and deliver P&L target of the plant.

- Overseeing the operation through a full functional staff including Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, HR, IT and Finance etc.

- Initiating and overseeing the new strategy for engineering to ensure production objectives are in consistence with overall quality requirements

- Maintaining a good collaboration with JV’s shareholders
- Developing, maintaining and improving business relations with key accounts
Interacting with sales organizations and other functional teams within UAE Operations to achieve the annual target

- Developing, training and retaining a strong local leadership team
