| Convergence Specialist - Data DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Coordinate with account executives and business development personnel to translate client requirements into a data networking solution using HP Procurve, Extreme, Cisco, Dlink and Juniper Product lines • In depth knowledge of TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, VPN, Load Balancing and Firewalls. • Technical writing and analytical experience in debugging and diagnosing complex network issues and reporting on prognosis and or break/fix specifics. • Experience managing projects and addressing issues which may impact timelines, revenue, or budgets. • Serve as primary client interface, responding to customer requests and proactively notifying customers of problems and the impact on the customer’s business • Monitor the ticket queue for incoming tickets • Update tickets in accordance to Service Level Agreement requirements and, if necessary, escalate based on severity levels • Experience with load balancing, testing, provisioning etc • Troubleshoot and identify sources of problems • Resolve basic configuration problems concerned with the service line being supported (server, LAN/WAN, voice, etc.) • Manage circuit providers for break/fixes (including collaborative troubleshooting and problem resolution); verify fixes successful • Manage equipment and service vendors for break/fixes (including dispatch, collaborative troubleshooting and problem resolution); verify fixes successful • Coordinate referrals and collaboratively troubleshoot with other operations groups • Request assistance from subject matter experts when needed to speed problem resolution • Responsible for understanding and reviewing action plans for planned and unplanned changes to client’s network/infrastructure. • Responsible for ensuring that implementations meet agreed customer business goals and are staged and delivered on time. • Write for various projects as assigned, including website content, newsletter articles, white papers, case studies, and promotions • Track and report weekly results on all activities; recommend improvements as required | |
