Position Summary

The Technical Consultant develops software functionality that meets customer needs and design specifications, on time and without software problems. The Technical Consultant reports directly to the Technical Manager, for tasks related to specific projects the Technical Consultant reports to the Senior Technical Consultant

Responsibilities

• Develops, codes, tests and debugs Supply Chain software in the Power Builder, Java, C++
or .Net using the Oracle or Microsoft relational databases to match any changes required by
the customer.
• Understand the design specification and time line estimates for assignments. Consult with the project manager to resolve any perceived discrepancies.
• Follow test control procedures as developed by the project manager or Senior Technical Consultant.
• Provide on-site installation and implementation activities, as directed by the Senior Technical Consultant.
• Document internal and external changes or modifications to programs.
• Learn the customers business such that you are able to provide functional and operational.

• Recommend software configuration or modifications to simplify and reduce operating time
and costs.
• May assist new Technical Consultants in understanding of systems and applications.
• Build integration to systems and devices.
• Assist to ensure successful implementation resulting in a referenceable client.
• Develop good supply chain knowledge to advise clients in the appropriate use of the solutions
that we implement.
• Provide customer with maintenance services as directed by the Customer Support Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or related field.
• Minimum of one year of Programming experience with Power Builder, Java, C++, .Net and SQL (Oracle or SQL Server) in a UNIX or Windows environment.
• Knowledge of UNIX or Windows operating systems.
• Experience in software solutions and life cycle.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to travel up to 25% yearly. When installing and traveling to client site most work is done in a warehouse. At this time, general mobility with capability to climb, crawl and
maneuver in restrictive areas may be necessary.
• Possess the ability to work alone and in team/cooperative development efforts.
• Supply Chain Systems (WMS, TMS) knowledge is a big plus.
• Good personality and a team player.
• Willingness to work overtime.
