Requirements Essential * Degree qualified – minimum requirement of BEng * Around 15 years experience working in a design consultancy at a supervisory or senior design level – some experience of working within a contractor environment is additionally welcome * Experience of working on major projects – high rise (40 stories plus) * Experience of electrical design software – Amtech, Dialux, Relux or Hevacomp * Experience of local utilities rules, regulations and design guides * Understanding of British, American and International design standards * Understanding of Mechanical Engineering principles and systems is essential * Good level of computer literacy in MS Office – an understanding of AutoCAD is essential * Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English * Good report writing skills, experience of making presentations to and attending meetings with clients is essential * Ability to manage the workload of a team of more junior engineers Desirable * IEng or CEng qualification preferred Behavioural Competencies Essential * Must have integrity, initiative, and be flexible and proactive * Able to make decisions, act on own initiative and operate in a proactive way Responsibilities * Staff management * Electrical building services engineering design, from concept design through to construction issue and post contract site support * Carrying out design calculations on a variety of buildings i.e. residential, commercial, educational, leisure facilities, industrial etc * Design according to local utilities rules, regulations and design guides and obtain necessary statutory approvals * Preparing technical specifications * Preparing drawings for drafting by in-house CAD team * Instruct CAD operators in all project related matters and responsible for the checking of all CAD works done * Coordinate with Architects, Structural Engineers and Mechanical Engineers and any other external design consultant * Coordinate with, instruct and supervise Electrical Engineers and AutoCAD Technicians * To understand and implement our clients ME Quality Assurance procedures and advise Engineers/Technicians * Representing our clients at meetings with clients and contractors Salary & Benefits * A competitive salary for the right candidate * Accommodation allowance * Transportation allowance * 30 calendar days annual leave * Medical and life insurance cover * Company gratuity scheme * Discretionary bonus scheme * Annual return airfare to point of origin Contact Please contact Melanie or Madeleine on 0131 555 4001 for more information.
