Operations Director

This is a senior position in one of the largest groups in Saudi Arabia. You will be in daily communication with District Managers / Hypermarket Managers to receive information and provide guidance and instructions All business functions will fall with your remit and you will utilise acquired knowledge to frequently coordinate efforts and resolve issues through implementation of new structures and team development.


Management Accountabilities:
1. Ensures all managers have personal objectives and KPIs which cascade down the department deliverables, regularly reviews performance and provide annual performance rating for his direct reports.
2. Role models the ethics and values of the business, demonstrates cultural sensitivity, and maintains high personal visibility in his own and other departments.
3. Plans and monitors training needs, provide professional coaching to managers to ensure that they have the professional capability to fully deliver in their role and that they are working on a personal development plan.
4. Plans and supports talent management and succession planning within his department and ensures all senior managers have a career plan.
5. Motivates employees and monitors employee satisfaction within his department and plans and executes plans to improve it.
6. Define policies and procedures and ensure optimum structure and that positions are properly staffed while maintaining high retention rates.

Functional Accountabilities:
1. Contributes to defining sales budget for business unit and drive targets at the store level.
Define and deliver key performance indicators for sales? at the store level to drive store activities to achieve budgeted sales.

2. Achieve profitability targets through defining and monitoring key performance indicators for stock loss and retail expenses.
Contributes to defining budgets?
Identify and execute actions that deliver a reduction in? store operating costs.
Forecast and manage cost centre? expenditure within budget.


3. Agree product availability targets, for the business unit and liaise with Commercial and Supply Chain to deliver them in order to drive sales and achieve budgets. Monitor results to take corrective action when needed.

4. Contribute to defining targets for operating standards and monitor key performance indicators for store standards to ensure operation efficiency.

5. Contributes to setting budgets for manpower and staff cost to ensure productivity targets are delivered. Monitors productivity measures for the business unit to optimise people productivity.

6. Contributes to setting hygiene standards for business unit and monitors measures in order to deliver the defined food safety and hygiene levels.

7. Integrate and implement other department’s plans, and coordinate efforts through contribution to meetings with other functions and departments at the head office and monitors implementation.

8. Ensures that customer service standards are known to all staff in order to deliver the desired shopping experience and monitor results.

You will ideally hold a University degree in business, management or related field with a minimum of 8 years experience managing a number of stores.
